Poem Of The Week

proud pet owner

Last year I bought a Leprechaun,
A pet to call my own,
He’s a timid little fellow,
That likes to be alone,

He’s got a tiny bowler hat,
His shoes with buckles, click,
He moves about by skipping
With his tiny walking stick,

He has orange facial fur,
And combs it till it’s clean,
His leaf and clover diet
Turns his skin a shade of green,

He talks in rhymes and riddles,
But never seems to smile,
Maybe I should let him
Off his leash a little while,

His nasty disposition
Has banned us from the park,
He growls, he digs, he pees on legs,
And likes to loudly bark,

Since he’s begun to claw and bite,
 Our dealings have turned south,
Next week I plan to buy for him
 A muzzle for the mouth.
Weekly poems are changed every Monday and can include illustrations in color/black and white or no accompanying art.
